North Cyprus has been very fortunate it seems, with no new cases of Covid-19 for over 5 weeks. Having taken swift action after the 1st case, reported on 10th March, the country put in place strict measures to contain the spread of the virus.
As of 19th May, a total of 30,604 tests have been completed across the population. Confirmed cases since March have totalled 108, with 104 patients recovering. Unfortunately we have seen 4 deaths, 2 of those cases being of German nationality who possibly had contracted the virus before arriving to North Cyprus.
The TRNC authorities are cautiously optimistic at this point to have put in place a staggered approach to reopening the country, and we are now very releived to report that Thalassa Beach Resort can now start to reopen it doors once again. Our beach is now available, and our facilities will be phased open again during the next couple of weeks, to we can start to take bookings and welcome guests.
We are grateful for the support of the team in ensuring that the resort has remained in great condition and that our owners properties have been looked after as usual.
We look forward to welcoming you to Thalassa as soon as possible. #staysafe
